Court Fees - Transcripts
Justice & Public Safety
Overview
All court proceedings are recorded. A transcript of the proceedings is prepared upon request to either the judiciary, solicitors of record or parties to the action or members of the public, boards, commissions, or arbitrators. The Department prepares transcripts in all criminal and family matters. Civil proceeding transcripts are prepared by the private sector stenographers.
Eligibility
1. Solicitors of record or parties to the action or members of the public, boards, commissions, or arbitrators
2. All those in number 1 are required to pay the fee per page regulated, unless deemed exempt under the Rules of Court, Court Reporters Act, Recording of Evidence by Sound Recording Device Act, or policy.
Description
When requesting a transcript of a court proceeding a "Request for Transcript Form" is to be completed. Upon completion of this form, a transcript will be prepared and completed in accordance with the "Priority Ranking Guidelines". A transcript will not be released until payment is received in full for the transcript.
PLEASE NOTE: For those requests from the general public a 90% deposit will be required to start preparation of the transcript. If the deposit paid is more than the cost of the transcript, the funds will be refunded.
