Driver Examinations
Road Tests: Lockdown & Red Zones
- Due to the current situation changing weekly, Driver Examiner schedules are only open 2 weeks in advance.
- In lockdown zones all SNB offices are closed. No services will be scheduled.
- If a zone changes to red, previously scheduled appointments will be automatically cancelled. Once testing resumes customers will be contacted by SNB for priority appointments.
- Customers who reside in red zones are not permitted to travel outside of their zone to complete a road test (as per the Mandatory Order regarding non-essential travel).
Class 7.2/5
- In a red zone, Service New Brunswick will conduct road tests for Class 7.2/5 only using a chase car following behind the driver:
- The Driver Examiner will follow behind the test candidate in a chase car.
- The test candidate must be accompanied by a fully licenced driver from within their household bubble. Accompanying passenger cannot coach test candidate.
- Test candidate must bring a cell phone. The Driver Examiner and test candidate will establish an open call via speaker phone or Bluetooth for the duration of the test so the Examiner can provide instructions.
Road Tests: Orange & Yellow Zones
- Road tests continue in orange and yellow zones, with active screening and extra precautions.
- Customers are required to bring a mask that covers their mouth and nose (bandanas and face shields are not sufficient).
- Examiners will check customer temperatures and results must be normal for the test to continue.
- Customers who reside in an orange or red zone are not permitted to travel outside of their zone for a road test appointment (as per the Mandatory Order regarding non-essential travel).
- Customers must reside in a yellow zone to take a road test in yellow zones. Check availability.
