Driver Examinations

  

  • Due to the current situation changing weekly, Driver Examiner schedules are only open 2 weeks in advance. 
  • In lockdown zones all SNB offices are closed. No services will be scheduled. 
  • If a zone changes to red, previously scheduled appointments will be automatically cancelled.  Once testing resumes customers will be contacted by SNB for priority appointments.
  • Customers who reside in red zones are not permitted to travel outside of their zone to complete a road test (as per the Mandatory Order regarding non-essential travel).

Class 7.2/5

 

  • In a red zone, Service New Brunswick will conduct road tests for Class 7.2/5 only using a chase car following behind the driver:
    • The Driver Examiner will follow behind the test candidate in a chase car.
    • The test candidate must be accompanied by a fully licenced driver from within their household bubble.  Accompanying passenger cannot coach test candidate.
    • Test candidate must bring a cell phone.  The Driver Examiner and test candidate will establish an open call via speaker phone or Bluetooth for the duration of the test so the Examiner can provide instructions.

 

  • Road tests continue in orange and yellow zones, with active screening and extra precautions.
  • Customers are required to bring a mask that covers their mouth and nose (bandanas and face shields are not sufficient).
  • Examiners will check customer temperatures and results must be normal for the test to continue.
  • Customers who reside in an orange or red zone are not permitted to travel outside of their  zone for a road test appointment (as per the Mandatory Order regarding non-essential travel).
  • Customers must reside in a yellow zone to take a road test in yellow zones. Check availability.

Class 7.1

  • Written tests for Class 7.1 are now available online.
    • Customers who reside in a yellow zone and pass both written tests online must wait a minimum of 4 business days, then go to an SNB office in a yellow zone to complete a vision test. 
    • If a zone changes to red previously scheduled appointments for vision tests will be automatically cancelled.  Once testing resumes customers will be contacted by SNB for priority appointments.
    • Customers who reside in an orange or red zone and pass both written tests online are not permitted to travel outside of their zone to complete a vision test (as per the Mandatory Order regarding non-essential travel).

All Classes 1-9

  • Written tests for Classes 1-9 taken in an SNB office in yellow and orange zones are permitted, however customers must complete tests in the zone in which they reside:
    • Written tests continue in yellow zones, only for customers who reside in yellow zones. Check availability.
    • Written tests continue in orange zones, however customers who reside in orange zones are not permitted to travel outside of their zone to complete a written test (as per the Mandatory Order regarding non-essential travel). Check availability.
  • If a zone changes to red previously scheduled appointments will be automatically cancelled.  Once testing resumes customers will be contacted by SNB for priority appointments:
