In 2014, the Government of New Brunswick proclaimed a new Procurement Act, taking public-sector purchasing into the 21st century. On July 2, 2019, new Regulation amendments come into effect. The amendments include revisions or updates to outdated provisions and will also ensure New Brunswick’s Procurement Act and Regulation complies with trade agreements.

Regulation amendments enable New Brunswick suppliers and entrepreneurs to have the opportunity to compete for business from the Province and from universities and colleges, cities, towns and villages throughout New Brunswick. Aligning the Regulation to the trade agreements also gives New Brunswick suppliers and entrepreneurs the ability to bid on opportunities at all levels of the European Union procurement market.

The amendments reconfirm government’s commitment to open competition while maximizing procurement opportunities for New Brunswick suppliers and entrepreneurs.
