FREDERICTON (GNB) – A new user-friendly website for property assessment information was launched today by Service New Brunswick.

“Your government listened to New Brunswickers and know they want a more modern and user-friendly property assessment tool,” said Service New Brunswick Minister Ed Doherty. “The new website will improve public access to property assessment information and increase transparency.”

The online tool will provide an interactive and enhanced user experience where residents can search for New Brunswick properties using maps, find data regarding the assessed value of a property, taxes levied, sales of comparable properties in their neighborhood, and other public information about properties.

While New Brunswickers have always been able to access property assessment information through Service New Brunswick’s website, the new site provides modernized imaging of properties throughout the province.

“We are focused on building the first truly digital society in North America and are committed to developing a Smart Province and exploring all options to modernize and deliver services in the most efficient way possible,” said Doherty. “Your government will continue to focus on making government data and information available to everyone, free of charge, while respecting the privacy and confidentiality of New Brunswick property owners.”

Doherty participated in a demonstration of the new property assessment tool, which can be viewed online.
