FREDERICTON (GNB) – The provincial government notifies the public that plans have been made to minimize the impact of a possible work stoppage at Canada Post that could begin on Saturday, July 2.

"The government has prepared for a possible service disruption and has contingency plans in place for important services such as family support orders and social assistance payments," said Service New Brunswick Minister Ed Doherty. "All incoming and outgoing mail will stop during a postal work stoppage, and we encourage the public to consider using alternative means of communication.”

New Brunswickers can access up-to-date information at any time on affected services and alternative delivery methods on the provincial government’s Canada Post work stoppage web page and by calling Service New Brunswick TeleServices at 1-888-762-8600.

The government will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates on its Canada Post work stoppage web page.
